Service Description
Audience: School Caretakers and Site Managers Aims: To enable candidates to become competent PAT testers in one day. The course includes over 3 hours of practical sessions. Candidates inspect and test a wide variety of portable electrical appliances including domestic equipment, power tools, IEC leads, office and IT equipment using many different models of appliance tester Course Content: - The legal requirement to PAT test - Risks & precautions against electrical shock - Frequency of PAT testing - Class of appliances - Safety risks & typical faults - User checks - Formal visual inspections - Plug checks & fuse ratings - Combined inspection & testing - Earth bond continuity tests - Insulation resistance tests - Protective conductor/touch current - Load/run testing - Testing office PCs & IT equipment - Pass & fail labelling - Result recording & maintenance of records Candidates will receive a Certificate of Competence in PAT Testing As there is a practical element to this course, we recommend that all delegates bring/wear Safety Boots.
