Aims: Major & minor building work on school premises is the responsibility of the school. This course explores the implications of building works in terms of practical legal and safety issues Course Content: - Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2007 and how they affect schools Client duties for projects notifiable to the HSE - Definition of a client and other principal parties of the regulations - Duties & responsibilities of the client and other ‘main person’ duties - Management arrangements – insurances, risk assessments and method statements for sub-contractors within the context of Construction, Design & Management (CDM) - Site inspections - Fire emergency arrangements during project work - Site rules and site information and templates for schools to use
