Service Description
Audience: School Caretakers and Site Managers, Head teachers, School Facilities Managers Aims: To provide essential Asbestos Awareness training to responsible persons in schools Course Content: - The history of asbestos - Legislation governing asbestos - Properties of asbestos - The risks to health caused by exposure to asbestos - Statistics on asbestos related illness - Types of asbestos and where it is typically found in buildings - Risks associated with the different types of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) and how to avoid them - Procedures for obtaining information on asbestos on premises prior to commencing work - How to work in a safe manner and appropriate precautions to take - Emergency procedures if ACMs are found to be disturbed The course covers all topics defined by Reg. 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006
