Secondary Core Level Health and Safety (SCHS)


Gain an understanding of the D&T Association Core Level Standards, and collect the evidence required to complete a D&T H&S portfolio.

  • Overview

    The Secondary Core Level training ensures that all delegates have a broad understanding of the D&T Association Core Level Standards, and have collected the evidence required to complete a D&T H&S portfolios. This course is suitable for both teachers and technicians who work in all areas of the subject.

    Prior to the training delegates will be advised as to the range of evidence that will be required to complete the portfolios. The evidence is used to demonstrate how health and safety is organised and managed within the department. Examples of evidence include sample risk and COSHH assessments, health and safety training materials and PAT testing documentation.

    This course provides knowledge of effective day-to-day working practice, as well as overall management of health and safety within the department. Wherever possible, departments are recommended to undertake this process as a whole team in order to facilitate a consistent approach to health and safety across the department, and clarifies that responsibility for health and safety should be shared by all.

    This course is available by client arrangement only, and is undertaken at your school or educational establishment.

    The maximum class size is for ten delegates, and the training lasts approximately six to seven hours.
