The NEBOSH General Certificate syllabus is divided into 2 units and covers 11 elements:
NG1: Management of Health and Safety
The unit is assessed by an open book typed or written examination completed at home within a 24-hour time-frame.
NG2: Risk Assessment
The unit is assessed by a three-hour practical assessment completed in your own workplace (or another suitable workplace). Candidates must pass all specified criteria for this unit.
A 'pass' must be achieved in both units to achieve the National General Certificate.
All units must be completed within 5 years to achieve the full NEBOSH General Certificate qualification.
The cost per user is £375 + VAT + £116 NEBOSH fees. Discounts are available for multiple bookings.

NEBOSH's internal processes and infrastructure to deliver the open book exams are currently in development, and it is anticipated that the first exams will take place in August.
