      A practical course for staff who use ladders and step ladders, enabling them to inspect and use ladders and stepladders in a safe manner.

      The aim of the course is to ensure that ladder users meet the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations.

        This is a half day course.

        Topics covered include:

          • Hazards of working at height

          • Access equipment – ladders, scaffolds, stepladders, scissor lifts etc.

          • Hazards with use of ladders and stepladders

          • Safe use of ladders and stepladders – theory includes precautions for school children and public/visitors

          • Inspection of ladders and stepladders – theory – how to identify faults, legislation requirements

          • Safe use of ladders and stepladders – practical

          • Inspection of ladders and stepladders – practical
