The Introduction to Health and Safety online course enables users to learn why health and safety is important and how it affects you and your activities when at work.
The course covers the following topics:
Accidents in the workplace
You and the Law
Common workplace hazards
To understand how accidents can occur and how they can impact an organisation
To understand the legal responsibilities for employees and employers
To define what a hazard is and understand the common hazards in the workplace
The course is completed on an online platform, and can be taken at the user’s own pace. The course should take an estimated time of 20-30 minutes if taken all at one time.
The course is formatted into the following areas:
Welcome – Introduction to the course
Lesson One – Accidents in the workplace
Lesson Two – You and the law
Lesson Three – Common workplace hazards
Summary – Overview of what you have learnt on the course
Assessment – multiple choice assessment (you are required to get 70% or above to pass the course)
What’s next? – access to a downloadable certificate and additional resources

PLEASE NOTE: Accounts for the courses must be set-up by a member of staff; these details will be created and sent to you as soon as possible. Our operating hours are from Mon – Fri 8:30am to 5:00pm so accounts can be created during this timeframe.
An internet connection is required to access the courses, and there are a number of videos which require sound (if it is inconvenient to play sound you can watch the videos in silent mode).
