What is the NEBOSH Diploma?

NEBOSH stands for the ‘National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health’. The NEBOSH Diploma is a national postgraduate diploma which is ideal for anyone planning to become a fully qualified health and safety practitioner.

Who is this course suitable for?

Ideal for the designated person in your company who is responsible for health and safety, it is designed to provide delegates with the expertise required to undertake a career as a safety and health practitioner, and enables you to become chartered status (CMIOSH).

Persons who may wish to undertake this course include:

  • Operational staff.
  • Team leaders.
  • Supervisors.
  • HR professionals.
  • Facilities Managers.

What is the structure of the course?

 The NEBOSH Diploma consists of four units:

  • Unit A: Managing Health and Safety – consists of fifteen days covering risk assessment, criminal and civil law, human factors, management systems and hazard studies.
  • Unit B: Hazardous Agents – consists of ten days covering COSHH, biological hazards, noise and radiation, stress and epidemiology.
  • Unit C: Workplace / Work Equipment – consists of ten days covering fire, machinery, construction, vehicle movement and the workplace.
  • Unit D: Assignment.

There are no formal entry requirements, however achievement of the NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent prior to undertaking the Diploma is highly recommended.
