Course Overview

The NEBOSH National Diploma provides the core health and safety knowledge transferable across industry, commerce and the public sector.

Combined with understanding and appropriate application, the NEBOSH National Diploma underpins the competent performance of an Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner.

Course Structure

The NEBOSH National Diploma is split into four modules:-

  • Module A: Managing Health and Safety;
  • Module B: Hazardous Agents in the Workplace;
  • Module C: Workplace and Work Equipment Safety;
  • Module D: Application of Health and Safety Theory and Practice.

Modules A, B and C are assessed by a written 3-hour examination. Module D is an 8000 word assignment.

Candidates may choose to take individual modules in any order over a five year period from registration.

There are 2 days of revision per module.

The course is run on a day release basis (i.e. one day per week) over an 18 month period. Examinations are in January and July.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements; however the syllabus assumes a broad basic knowledge of health and safety.

Achievement of the NEBOSH General Certificate or direct equivalent prior to undertaking the Diploma course is highly recommended.
