NEBOSH Diploma Module C

Course Overview

The NEBOSH National Diploma provides the core health and safety knowledge transferable across industry, commerce and the public sector.

Module C covers all the subjects associated with Workplace and Work Equipment Safety.

Duration and Structure

11 days including 2 days of revision.

The course is run on a day release basis (i.e. 1 day per week) over an 18-month period, and covers the following subjects:-

  • General workplace issues;
  • Principals of fire and explosion;
  • Workplace fire risk assessment;
  • The storage, handling and processing of dangerous substances;
  • Work equipment;
  • Machinery safety;
  • Mechanical handling;
  • Electrical safety;
  • Safety in construction and demolition;
  • Environmental pollution and waste management.

Examinations are in January and July.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements; however, the syllabus assumes a broad basic knowledge of health and safety.

Achievement of the NEBOSH General Certificate or direct equivalent prior to undertaking the Diploma course is highly recommended.
