IOSH Managing Safely

Course Overview

The IOSH Managing Safely Course has been developed by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health to address management training needs in the light of continuous development in health and safety legislation.

It is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It is designed to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams.

Course Duration and Structure

This is a 4-day course, plus 1 optional day to assist participants with their project work.

IOSH Managing Safely covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment. It is divided into eight modules:-

  • Introducing Managing Safely;
  • Assessing Risks;
  • Controlling Risks;
  • Understanding your Responsibilities;
  • Identifying Hazards;
  • Investigating Accidents and Incidents;
  • Measuring Performance;
  • Protecting our Environment.

The delegates are assessed at the end of the course by a multiple choice written assessment and a project completed at their workplace.

Entry Requirements

No previous health and safety knowledge is required.
